Dr. Stephen Pistorius, a prominent figure in Canadian physics and medical physics, has been awarded the 2025 CAP-COMP Peter Kirkby Memorial Medal for Outstanding Service to Canadian Physics. His contributions over 30 years include enhancing the physical sciences profession and public engagement in physics, while serving as a professor at the University of Manitoba and director of the Medical Physics program. Pistorius emphasizes his enjoyment in helping the community and making a difference. Additionally, the University of Manitoba hosted its first annual Wawatay celebration dinner, honoring the achievements of Wawatay Scholars in a warm community atmosphere. Quinn Kelly Neale, a recent MSc graduate, received the 2025 University of Manitoba Distinguished Master's Thesis Prize for his groundbreaking work and has commenced a PhD in Internal Medicine.
